Well the thing about this book is that it really is not organized very well in some areas. So if you think that you’re going to feel like your reading microbiology MRS book and getting that feeling like you’re really learning easily from it forget it. That is what I thought at least.

They book can get you frustrated at many pages along the ways of reading it; in areas as you’re reading it; because it only explains crucial stuff superficially. I really liked the CD that came with it tho; although over simplistic in some ways; but it really helps you in building up your confidence; so I would really use the cd after reading this book if I were you…

Yeah really use this CD, I liked it; the CD I think I liked it even more then the book itself; you should read the book first to get the most out of the CD that comes with this book. You need a nice atlas of neuroanatomy when reading this book….

Once you get to the end of this book and use the CD you’ll be feeling much better about it, you’re feeling a little better by then. To me one weird thing was the size of this book; I think it’s too small; it’s so small that it does not give you enough room to add notes to it. The drawings are too small and not really enough to be considered good for the reader; you

get a little lost

here and there when trying to follow the stuff that it tells you; that it tells you too look at because of its size… to look at in the text and so forth and so on…

The pictures that it alerts you to follow are misplaced in them pages…

They could be better positioned.

This book could still be even greater if it still did a better job in explaining stuff, I mean if he just stretched out more when explaining stuff, it would be great, like when he talked about the brown sequad syndrome I had to read it elsewhere because I did not get the full picture from reading his book alone; you know of what that was all about and stuff.

Although the author tries to convey the messages in an easy way, that makes it undemanding for you to understand it, the disorganization and the lack of explanations on some areas don’t make this book thorough in many respects; so here is the take home massage, I would use this book as something that you could use for keep track of what to know for the exam…

Thinking about it maybe that’s why the FA book rates this book as a book B RATED and not as an A RATED book like it does for HY neuroanatomy.

I prefer this book’s format tho then the HY neuroanatomy , even tho that the quality of HY is better and this book in several aspects could be so much improved.

The author should for his 4th edition, maybe pay a little more attention to the overall shape and size of the book ,break down all the stuff that he’s trying to explain more extensively cause what he’s talking about is right on the money ;just needs a little bit more finesse to it; like really talk to the students; don’t mind it’s size in terms of how many pages its going to take to do it; but you know do it…

I am sure that it would be the number one book on this subject matter…

The important thing should be that when you can easily follow a very hard subject, such as neuroanatomy you will just keep it for life. In order to make its ratings go up, the size of the book should be taken into under consideration.

It will make it easier for us to follow and add notes to it, graphs and all that other stuff?

Some flaws

that could be fixed very easily, overall you need a really nice neuroanatomy atlas to get the most out of this book along with the cd that comes with this book.

Stresses you out; trying to read through those small letterings and the small drawings and so forth and so on.

This book you know well it’s already got its way cutout for to being an A+ rated book…

Just needs a little more shaping in place; length of its explanations, maybe it should be about the same size of those two books,

from the series,

the anatomy one; and the microbiology one. (Microbiology made ridiculously simple)

Easier to look at; the hand made drawings , could add notes to it much leisurely ; that is if you like doing that to your books ;I know some people that don’t even write their name and stuff on their books.

Dr. Goldberg gave us many lectures on neuroanatomy here in Miami. It was unusual if students didn’t laugh during his lecture. He made the boring neuroanatomy really interesting. However, the quality of the pictures are very bad. This is most obvious disadvantage of this book. Also sometimes you will be attracted away by the funny stories about the anatomiacal structures. With the discription of the CN7 motor nerve pathway, I remembered the location of CN6 nucleus. But I simply couldn’t remember which nerve sorrounds the CN6 nucleus on the midterm exam.

The book is an excrelent summary especially useful for first or second u=year sutidents of medice

This book probably fits high school students but not medical students. It is very short to give the least discussion of neuroanatomy. The graphs are hand written and are completely unclear. In general, this is an amateur book which does not fit university level books. It has no clinical discussion although its title implies it is clinical in nature.
