Product Description
Elizabeth Edwards is one of the most beloved political figures in the country and, on the surface, she seems to have led a charmed life. In many ways, she has. Beautiful family. Thriving career. Supportive friendships. But she’s no stranger to adversity. Many know of the strength she showed after her son, Wade, was killed in a freak car accident when he was only sixteen years old. She would exhibit this remarkable grace and courage again when the very private matter of her husband’s infidelity became public fodder. And when her own life was on the line. Days before the 2004 presidential election–when her husband, John, was running for vice president–she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After rounds of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, the cancer went away–only to recur in 2007.

In Resilience, Elizabeth Edwards crafts an unsentimental and ultimately inspirational meditation on dealing with life’s biggest challenges. This powerful and inspirational book makes an ideal gift for anyone dealing with difficulties in their lives, to draw strength from the kind of attitude that Elizabeth has developed, and find peace in knowing that they are not alone.

I did not like this book because the author seemed to be focused on herself and trying to justisy her position. To stay with a husband that is unfaithful doesn’t make you a strong person. There have been many people that have gone through the expperiences which she has, but they haven’t published books and enjoyed bathing in the spot light.

Amazing how some people think the sun and earth revolve around them. I have yet to read anything as self-indulgent as Resilience. I even went to the dictionary to be sure I understood the definition of the word resilience; synonyms: elasticity and buoyancy. Change is a constant fact of life and one day can never duplicate a previous day. When you loose someone or learn of a husband’s unfaithfulness your world has changed and you must change, too. I am suprised at the wallowing in self pity Mrs. Edwards allowed herself when her son died and appalled that she would dedicate herself to learning to parent a dead child (her words). Where is her sense of duty to the rest of her family, especially her husband? If her marriage was so important to her why did she neglect all for the sake of grieving for years? I cannot condone unfaithfulness especially as a woman who has been cheated on herself, but she certainly seemed to allow herself years of self pity and grief as well as two new babies (at age 48 & 50) to drastically change her marriage. Why wouldn’t John stray?

Don’t waste your money. Woman with questionable ethics and morals trying to capitalize on her 15 minutes of fame (shame). Talk about hanging your dirty laundry out to dry.

Elizabeth, take care of your personal and shameful life in private. Your husband (and you) have hurt this country enough!

those three little words apply both to Saint Elizabeth and to the price of the kindle book

No good. “Fight suit” or, don’t you mean “flight”? Save your $$ poorly, poorly written.
